Client stories

Words from the people who stayed.

Therapy works when someone keeps turning up. Here is what that looked like, in the words of the people who did.

I had put off finding someone for years. Two sessions in, I finally felt like I was being listened to rather than assessed.
R. M.
We came in barely speaking to each other. We left with a way of arguing that does not end the evening.
A. & J.
The first session was the hardest thing I did all year. It was also the last time it felt that hard.
S. K.
Booking took a minute and the reminder the day before meant I never lost a session. None of it got in the way.

Questions

Everything you might want to ask.

If something here is not covered, ask. A short call costs nothing and is usually quicker than reading another page.

The first session is mostly listening. You say as much or as little as you want about what brought you here, I ask a few questions to understand the shape of it, and we agree on what would be useful to work on. Nothing is decided in that hour that cannot be changed later.
That depends on what you are working through, and it is a question we revisit rather than answer once. Some people come for a focused stretch of six to eight sessions; others stay longer. You are never committed beyond the next appointment.
Weekly sessions build momentum and suit periods when things feel acute. Fortnightly gives more room to put things into practice between sessions and often works better later on. We can move between the two as circumstances change.
Both. Online across the state, in person at the Brooklyn office. Plenty of people mix the two - in person when they can, online in a week that would otherwise mean missing a session.
Yes, with the narrow legal exceptions every practitioner is bound by - a serious risk to your safety or someone else’s. I will talk you through those in the first session so you know exactly where the line sits before you tell me anything.
